Despite the fact that the musical traditions they were raised in are so different\, they have managed to find a common language. And the very contrast of their cultural roots has given rise to a third\, entirely new color—born from the blend of two distinct hues. \nFar Eastern percussion artistry\, when combined with classically inclined\, European-rooted improvised music\, creates an electrifying and mystical marriage. In this duo\, the richly textured pianism of a classically trained improvising pianist is enhanced by the unique rhythmic philosophy brought in by Zohar Fresco—a musician considered legendary in certain circles\, followed by many\, and regarded as one of the most important frame drum percussionists in the world. His unmatched precision\, tonal sensitivity\, mastery of asymmetrical pulses\, and magnetic stage presence are traits that define Fresco—who has found in Leszek Możdżer a worthy partner for his sonic explorations. \nLeszek Możdżer is one of the most original Polish pianists\, performing globally and known for both his distinctive sound and his innovative approach to musical material. He constantly explores new sonorities in tuning and temperament\, often performing with two pianos tuned differently\, and is the creator of the world’s first decaphonic piano—tuned in a ten-step equal temperament system. \nBoth musicians bring vast stage and studio experience. They have collaborated since the 1990s\, and their deep mutual understanding results in performances that are not only fascinating intellectual exchanges between outstanding instrumentalists but also feel like a meeting of two close friends. \n

Finally\, in 1997\, his first album was presented\, Bahareman (“My Spring”)\, which was a collection of classic and folkloric music played and arranged by Aghili (violin\, guitar\, piano\, keyboard). In the same year his voice was heard in Mabood\, his first vocal music\, and afterward he continued work that resulted in Mosafer (“The Traveller”)\, his first complete vocal album. In 1999 he created a revolutionary album\, Dehati (“The villager”)\, with rock and roll\, 6/8\, and popular rhythms. However\, none of his songs were permitted to be played on public media (i.e.\, TV). Shadmehr worked hard to get permission for his Adam o Hava (Adam & Eve)\, an album that was supposed to be released in 2001. However\, not only did he not\, but also\, he was banned from working as a singer or musician or appearing on TV shows. \nHaving left with no better choice\, he decided to leave Iran in 2002 in order to continue his music in Canada\, away from any restrictions. Khiali Nist (“No Worries”)\, Adamforoush (“Traitor\,” 2004)\, and “Popcorn” are his most recent albums released in Canada and the United States. In addition\, Shadmehr acted in two movies\, namely\, Pare Parvaz (2000) and Shabe Berahneh (2001).\nIn October 2006\, Shadmehr entered the United States to perform a U.S. tour with his first concert date scheduled for November 17\, 2006\, at the Warner Theatre in Washington\, D.C.
