The Chicago Park District is delighted to welcome Jefferson Memorial Park’s own historic City-Wide Symphony Orchestra back to the Copernicus Center for their 79th Season Holiday Concert!
Founded in 1947, the City-Wide Symphony Orchestra is an all-volunteer community ensemble that has offered Chicago-area musicians of all ages the chance to perform in a semi-professional setting for nearly eight decades. Through its concerts and programs, the orchestra continues to enrich the city’s cultural life and bring people together through music.
The City-Wide Symphony Orchestra remains committed to fostering a love of symphonic music and supporting music as a lifelong pursuit. Its repertoire spans masterful classical works, beloved lighter classics, uniquely American compositions, and underperformed pieces that deserve a place on today’s stage.
The orchestra is honored to continue to be part of Chicago’s holiday season celebrations. This year’s performance promises to fill the Copernicus Center with festive spirit, inspiring music, and memories for the whole family to enjoy.
